Warao was born out of an epic road trip across Venezuela, a seemingly endless adventure that inspired not only our first product, but also the values and spirit that defines us.
That adventure, and the many that have followed since then, have cultivated and enriched the Warao company and community we are today.
At Warao Offroad, adventure is our profession and life is our passion. Based out of Houston, Texas we are an enthusiastic outdoor adventure company that offers the highest quality roof top tents and off-road Gear.
What does Warao mean.
The Warao are an indigenous Amerindian people inhabiting northeastern Venezuela common spellings of Warao are Waroa, Guarauno, Guarao, and Warrau. The term Warao translates as "the boat people," after the Warao's lifelong and intimate connection to the water. Most of the approximately 20,000 Warao inhabit Venezuela's Orinoco Delta region, with smaller numbers in neighboring Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname. They speak an agglutinative language, Warao.
